Compare services using the complete shipment details. A low rate is only useful when the parcel, address, documents and included charges are understood.
What goes into a quotation
Destination country and the receiver’s exact postcode or delivery area.
Actual and volumetric weight, dimensions and number of boxes.
Contents, declared value and personal or commercial purpose.
Available carrier service and its handling requirements.
Pickup needs, any remote-area charge and other service-specific fees.
Understand the delivery estimate
Ask when the quoted transit period begins and whether it is expressed in working days. Pickup time, export processing, customs review, airline capacity, local holidays and delivery arrangements can affect the overall journey.
An estimate is not a guaranteed arrival date unless a specific written service commitment has been agreed. If a parcel is needed for an event, mention the deadline before booking so the options can be assessed honestly.
Remote and special delivery addresses
A postcode can affect service coverage and surcharges even within a familiar city or country. Give the full address rather than only the city name. For rural routes, islands, military addresses, PO boxes, campuses or business premises, ask about the selected carrier’s delivery conditions.
Use the “Not known / no postcode” option only if the postcode is genuinely unavailable; the office will need the correct delivery details before confirming serviceability.

Ask about
Why it matters
Freight, fuel and GST
Avoid comparing a base transport rate with a fuller quote.
Customs duty and destination VAT/GST
These may be payable by the receiver unless explicitly included.
Oversize, remote, pickup and handling fees
Special parcel or address conditions can change the total.
Claims, liability and optional cover
Do not assume declared value automatically equals insurance or compensation.
Return or failed-delivery costs
Check how additional charges are handled if the shipment cannot be delivered.
After booking
Retain the receipt, service name and tracking reference. Share the correct AWB with the receiver and keep their phone number available to the delivery network. If a status needs explanation, use Shipment Support and include the latest tracking message so our team can identify the right next step.

KNOW BEFORE YOU SEND
Your parcel preparation checklist.
Clear information for every shipment, from the contents of your box to the paperwork at customs.
Documents, clean clothing, books and non-hazardous gifts are common parcel enquiries. Tell us exactly what is inside, including hidden batteries, liquids or food ingredients. Acceptance is confirmed for the destination and selected service before booking.
More preparation advice
A mixed parcel is checked item by item. One restricted product can affect the entire box, so include every item in your list and keep product labels or invoices ready.
Never hide illegal goods, counterfeit products or undeclared hazardous materials in a parcel. Fireworks, fuel, gas cylinders, corrosive chemicals and similar dangerous goods do not belong in an ordinary personal parcel.
More preparation advice
Medicines, food, seeds, wooden articles, batteries, perfumes and valuables need separate checks. A restricted item may need permits or specialist handling; it is not automatically accepted because another item in the box is allowed.
Shipping weight considers both the scale weight and the space occupied by the packed box. Measure its outer length, width and height in centimetres and send us all three measurements with the actual weight.
More preparation advice
Volumetric weight = length × width × height ÷ the service’s divisor. For an illustrative divisor of 5,000, a 50 × 40 × 30 cm box gives 12 kg. Carrier measurement, rounding and the chosen service determine the final chargeable weight.
Give a clear item description, quantity, genuine value and reason for sending. Customs can inspect the parcel or request documents. A gift or personal parcel is still subject to destination import rules.
More preparation advice
Ask which freight, tax, duty, remote-area and clearance charges your quote includes, and who pays any destination charges. Never use a false description or a deliberately reduced value to avoid customs checks.
Keep the sender’s recognised identity and address proof ready. Names and addresses should match the shipment paperwork. Business consignments and regulated items can require additional documents.
More preparation advice
Complete verification through the office or the verified carrier process after the service is confirmed. Do not paste identity numbers, prescriptions, passwords or payment details into the public quote form.
Use a sound carton, protect items from movement and remove old labels. Keep food in suitable sealed packaging only after acceptance is confirmed. Add the receiver’s full address, postcode and reachable phone number.
More preparation advice
Keep an item list and photos of the packed contents. Confirm pickup availability, the expected delivery window and any remote-area requirement before handing over the parcel.
