Illegal narcotics, unlawful goods, counterfeit goods and goods prohibited by the destination country.
Explosives, fireworks, ammunition and weapons: do not include these in an ordinary courier parcel.
Fuel, lighter refills, gas cylinders, solvents, corrosive chemicals, poisons and other undeclared dangerous goods.
Protected wildlife, endangered plant or animal products, or restricted cultural goods without the required lawful permissions.
Unidentified powders, unlabelled medicines or any item hidden under an inaccurate customs description.

Items needing prior confirmation
Food and agricultural goods: meat, dairy, ghee, honey, seeds, plants, fresh produce and homemade mixtures require destination-specific checks.
Medicines and supplements: an Indian prescription or purchase bill does not by itself establish permission to import into another country.
Batteries, power banks, devices, aerosols, perfumes and nail products: declare the product type and obtain a carrier decision before packing.
Cash, precious metals, jewellery, high-value items, fragile articles and temperature-sensitive products: discuss the correct service and any exclusions in advance.
Wood, leather, shells, soil-contaminated footwear and used outdoor equipment can need biosecurity or protected-species checks.

Food, sweets & desi ghee
Food, seeds, wooden articles, animal products and used outdoor items are biosecurity risk categories. Ask for the MPI conditions that apply to your exact courier parcel. Do not use a traveller’s baggage allowance as permission to post the same item.
For mailed prescription medicines, Medsafe requires appropriate authorisation from a New Zealand authorised prescriber identifying the medicine and quantity. Controlled-drug and other exclusions also apply. Check the recipient’s documents and courier acceptance before dispatch.
New Zealand Customs sets clearance and charge requirements for goods received from overseas. Higher-value or commercial shipments can need additional importer information. The receiver should respond promptly to the carrier’s clearance request; storage can become chargeable.
Include the unit or street number, suburb or locality, town, postcode and local contact number. If the address has a rural delivery number, include it exactly as provided by the receiver.
KYC, weight and documents before dispatch
Prepare the sender’s paperwork
Keep recognised identity and address proof ready for the office or verified carrier process. Prepare an item list with quantities and genuine values, the sender and receiver contacts, and an invoice or additional permits where required. Business shipments may need business and export details.
Give the actual weight and outer length, width and height of every box. Carriers compare actual and volumetric weight; the applicable divisor, rounding, box limits and service determine the chargeable weight. Secure, compact packing avoids paying for unnecessary space.
Before handing over the parcel, confirm item acceptance, pickup or drop-off, the estimated delivery window, and who pays any destination charges. Customs, missing paperwork, local holidays and remote delivery can extend an estimate.

Our team will explain what the final quotation includes: shipping, GST, remote-area or other service charges. Destination customs duty, tax or handling must be confirmed separately for the chosen service.
How long will delivery take?
We confirm the service-specific estimate with your quote. Customs checks, remote areas, airline schedules and local holidays can affect delivery.

Documents, clean clothing, books and non-hazardous gifts are common parcel enquiries. Tell us exactly what is inside, including hidden batteries, liquids or food ingredients. Acceptance is confirmed for the destination and selected service before booking.
More preparation advice
A mixed parcel is checked item by item. One restricted product can affect the entire box, so include every item in your list and keep product labels or invoices ready.
Never hide illegal goods, counterfeit products or undeclared hazardous materials in a parcel. Fireworks, fuel, gas cylinders, corrosive chemicals and similar dangerous goods do not belong in an ordinary personal parcel.
More preparation advice
Medicines, food, seeds, wooden articles, batteries, perfumes and valuables need separate checks. A restricted item may need permits or specialist handling; it is not automatically accepted because another item in the box is allowed.
Shipping weight considers both the scale weight and the space occupied by the packed box. Measure its outer length, width and height in centimetres and send us all three measurements with the actual weight.
More preparation advice
Volumetric weight = length × width × height ÷ the service’s divisor. For an illustrative divisor of 5,000, a 50 × 40 × 30 cm box gives 12 kg. Carrier measurement, rounding and the chosen service determine the final chargeable weight.
Give a clear item description, quantity, genuine value and reason for sending. Customs can inspect the parcel or request documents. A gift or personal parcel is still subject to destination import rules.

Ask which freight, tax, duty, remote-area and clearance charges your quote includes, and who pays any destination charges. Never use a false description or a deliberately reduced value to avoid customs checks.
Keep the sender’s recognised identity and address proof ready. Names and addresses should match the shipment paperwork. Business consignments and regulated items can require additional documents.

Complete verification through the office or the verified carrier process after the service is confirmed. Do not paste identity numbers, prescriptions, passwords or payment details into the public quote form.
